Filmmaker Statement

I was challenged to look at new ways to approach the telling of this film (Wild Will), primarily born from the fact that I shot the film by myself in the kitchen of my apartment (ironically pre-Covid, before this technique would somewhat globally take off, due to the pandemic lockdowns that many filmmakers faced). Through the many challenges that came with shooting Wild Will solo, I also found this process allowed some interesting new ideas to come to the fore. I kept 'Wild Will's' shot and production design selections, stark and finite, whilst increasing the audio presence within the film's narrative. This somewhat un-conventional approach, hopefully invites the audience to fill in what is 'not seen' with their own mind and help facilitate, a more intense and unsettled interaction with the lead character 'Will'
