Filmmaker Statement

Alex, former platinum selling producer, current caveman and the protagonist of my film, appeared almost like an external manifestation of my internal conflicts. Disillusioned with the music industry and in the midst of an existential crisis, I found myself stranded on the island of Ibiza mid-pandemic. It was here that I first met Alex after I came across his home on a hike. I started filming shortly after, caught up in the romance of his riches to rags story, with half an idea that maybe I too should leave music and modern society behind and live a simple life in a cave. However, the more I got to know him the more his projection of paradise began to flicker and the contradictions emerged. I realised that he existed in multiple dualities and that’s when he became really interesting to me as a documentary subject and a human being. He is both a caveman, the self professed "last free man on earth" and also a platinum selling producer with multiple celebrity stories. He is practicing the
