A Broken Appointment

Unreleased
“A Broken Appointment”
A Vignette. A Relationship. A Rise and Fall. A melancholic exploration of closeting in a young gay relationship, and how "hiding in the dark" may lead to a destructive end.
Set to the backdrop of "Epilogue" by Kei Miller, A Broken Appointment explores the dynamic of closeting within a young gay relationship, and how "hiding in the dark" may lead to a destructive end. Miller's poetry however, attempts to offer some optimism for the ability of relationships to rise again after an unfortunate end. The film came out of an exploration of queer black experiences in white spaces, and is the foothold to a feature film in development.
