This is a film about perspective and wonder, and how that wonder that many of us have as children often disappears as we age. In the film, we see the consequences of losing this wonder as the older siblings miss out on something spectacular. On a more grounded level, this is also a film about growing up with siblings, and the chaos that stems from that. It is also a film about the New England coastline, and the magic present there. Ultimately, it is a film made by a now grown-up kid that loved looking at the sky, hoping to see something out of this world. A Lost Sense was equally inspired both by films and filmmakers that present the magic of the surreal, and the grittiness of the brutally real.
