Filmmaker Statement

Starting acting is a struggle, and it's well known. Our goal here was to dive inside Emma's insecurities, she tries to keep her head high, while not being emotionally helped emotionally by her close family and challenged by some industry figures such as Casting Directors. We pushed the silliness of the situation with the CD to emphasize what can be asked of an actor, meaning everything and nothing. Our goal is to bring some empathy towards that step in the life of a young actor when everything seems impossible, and when it seems like you can count only on yourself, struggling to find the energy to go on, until a little help, a simple connection, a smile can be enough fuel to go on and have faith.
