Who are you? Who can you be, if you are only identified in relation to other people or the society? And what if it's difficult to be accepted by other people? There is an ongoing battle for gender equality in Japan. With the recent LGBTQ bill passing, it only showed how much more awareness it needs to reach the minimum level of equality. There is still a long way to go. AITAI (“longing”) is a fashion film about two different individuals, Riku and Minor, who are both sexual minority in Japan. Shot on 16mm film in Tokyo.
