The idea for the video came when I decided to film Burak, my unrequited love of 7 years, sitting on the bed casually talking with me like we always did and experiment with the idea of whether it was possible for our interaction to be represented honestly when I was behind the camera. Is it possible for camera to capture something true even if people only perceive things as they see? After watching the footage I saw that camera was much more honest than either of us ever was. In some ways the video might be seen as a misrepresentation with intentional outcomes, pieced together by me to tell the "cat's story", but it is ironically more emotional and authentic than we ever were in real life.
