Filmmaker Statement

"Alone Together" is drama with focus on inner conflict that two young people who left their country share. Level of detachment and loneliness which is present in both characters comes to showcase in untrue conversation that they share at the balcony. Their need for comfort and trust later changes the route of conversation. A lot of my friends left the country, and I tried asking myself the questions: What does one return to and does everything changes? People struggle with opening up and sharing their feelings, myself included. One of the questions I asked myself while I was writing this script is 'Would it be easier to open up to a stranger than to someone close to me?". With two lonely individuals sharing a room, they find comfort in sharing the burden they carry.
