Filmmaker Statement

This is a story inspired by my own family and what we went through in 2020. My grandma suffered a brain aneurysm and our whole extended family came together to be with her. A few days into her being at the hospital, we received the news about our Lolo passing, who was in the Philippines, and made the choice to keep it a secret from her until she recovered. That entire period was a blur of chaos and uncertainty, and I think this film is my way of trying to make sense of all of it, a love letter to my family.
