When you live in a small town, everybody knows you. You have to prove yourself to society as a good man. A man that needs to be respected. Sometimes, you don’t have the chance to prove yourself: they have already agreed amongst themselves who you are. In such a conservative society, you are judged by the unavoidable life that has been given to you. One day, when I was 19 years old, I went back to visit the small town where I was born. I met with my old friend, who offered to go to see a woman with him. We both were in front of the door, waiting for her to open it. Suddenly, a guy opened the door. He looked younger than me. My friend told me that he is the woman’s son. He walked away leaving the door open. I couldn’t stop thinking about his life in that small town. A prostitute giving birth to a child and deciding to raise him brought this idea to my mind, which led me to write this story, explore his life and share it with the audience.
