Filmmaker Statement

When I was 15 my mother was diagnosed with an advanced stage of breast cancer. When I was 41, I put together the outfit she would be laid to rest in. Bridge. was born out of these personal experiences. Bridge. is a narrative that traverses a young woman’s coming-of-age journey in the wake of her mother’s untimely death. It is also an exploration of grief by capturing the elusive moments of grace that exist in the hardest moments imaginable. In the end, no matter how isolating and sad it is to lose a loved one, grief really does link us all together.
