"Brothers" is a portrait of two siblings trying to love, protect, and shape each other without really knowing how. The older brother believes being a man means being tough, no weakness, no softness, and he tries to instill that in his younger brother the only way he knows how: through pressure, mockery, and control. But underneath all of it is love. A confused kind of love, shaped by loss and survival, where care doesn’t always look like care. We shot the film in my hometown with a $100 budget, using the real spaces and textures of our lives. That rawness, both emotional and physical, was essential. I wanted it to feel lived in and honest, like you’re a third sibling, sitting in the apartment with them. - Chasen Nuttall
