Filmmaker Statement

"Can You Leave Us Alone?" became an undertaking that took years to make funny enough. Something so small was thought of during one of Jordan and myself's first nights at our new apartment in the middle of 2020. On our roof, we saw a man on a date with a disturbingly still person. Our imaginations ran wild with the idea that this still acting person could've been a doll and the implications that would've been carried along with it. The original short starred Jordan and myself and, to much disappointment, felt incredibly lackluster - a borderline comedy sketch. The small story felt like it deserved more humanity, and our main protagonist felt like he needed to be much more than the butt of some off-hand joke. Jokes, of course, included but that they should not be the driving power about this intimate story on loneliness, love, and relationships. Fast forward a few years later, with a few more friends in the industry made, and "Can You Leave Us Alone?" became an endeavor backed by friends
