I’ve spent a lot of my life watching romantic movies. The “romcom” is one of the most popular film genres of all time. Having seen many romcoms throughout my life, it was just my assumption that I knew what romance was. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that romance entails a lot more than just meeting someone and falling in love. I knew there was more to it, but I didn’t know how to express what that meant. At a certain point, I just really wanted to know how to define it. So my mission with this film was simple: to just very clearly define and express what I believe romance to be. I set out to make the most romantic story I could possibly make. That is what CAROLINE, AT DIFFERENT TIMES is.
