Filmmaker Statement

Comedy is the essence that allows us to enjoy life. While visiting my uncle in a retirement home, I witnessed a life guard and an elderly lady having lunch together. I thought to myself, how crazy would it be if they were together for other reasons? And then thought, how would that situation arise in my life? That was the conception of Cougar Catcher. I wanted to create a film that not only spoke to my existence as a human but is entertaining for everyone, no matter their age. Being in a longterm relationship with my partner played a huge role into creating Grayson’s moral dilemma. He’s in-debt from college and other expenses but he’s also madly in love with his boyfriend. I wanted to set up conflict that challenges status quo in the way of how far would someone go to achieve financial freedom and supporting their loved ones. On the other hand, I wanted an antagonist that is still lovable like Agatha. She’s merely a lady who hasn’t had physical tough since who knows when but also seeks
