Filmmaker Statement

I feel I've grown with this project as much as it has with me. For the longest time, I've felt that the film industry rewards those who put down others, to those who do anything for their name in the stars. In CRUNCH, I wanted to explore that delusion as Jake struggles to win an award for his work, all despite the horrors he's caused to attain it. Time and time again, filmmakers and those in power have been exposed as narcissistic, greedy, or careless as they harass those lower in status than them, and as a result, I feel CRUNCH is incredibly relevant to the world today.
