Ash, a reticent and obsessed luthier, visits client Charles, a once renowned violinist, to fix his suspiciously broken violin. Charles's wife Lauren, unusually, is not home. Working in the dusty storage room, Ash gets startled by a loud bang outside, before realizing that Charles is eavesdropping on him. Out of obsession, Ash endures the ominous atmosphere and fixes the violin. As he finetunes the violin, a screeching noise from within the walls distract him, forming horrifying images in his head. Petrified, while looking for the sound, Ash sees the upper half of Lauren's corpse being gnawed at by rats. Charles comes back in his bloodied gloves. As Ash runs for his life, the overwhelming noise from the corpse cripples and engulfs him...
