Filmmaker Statement

For all that we judge our parents and the older generation by, we ourselves have callously forgotten some of the most precious moments of our early years of childhood: a time when we were so gently and meticulously taken care of. Personally, I can't remember a single thing from the years 0-7. So my question is: what of the forgotten memories of those years? Do we really know enough about our parents and our past to be able to define our relationships so strongly as we have? This is the story that I wished to tell when making Early Years (小时候 ).
