First Final Ride explores a heartfelt and unexpected celebration of life through the lens of a hearse festival in the coastal town of Beaufort, North Carolina. Where many simply see a vehicle representative of death and decay, this community of hearse enthusiasts showcase beauty, creativity, and community through their cars. In making this film, I wanted to highlight what we so often choose to ignore. These vehicles and the attendees of Dirt Nap Fest invite us to confront mortality with imagination, humor, and heart.
