All of us at some point experience the loss of someone we love. Sarah struggled for years to come to terms with the passing of her partner in a plane crash. Her job — scouring the desert for the remains of creatures who died in flight themselves — became her way to cope with her loss and make sense of her grief. With FLIGHTPATH, we aim to give the audience a cinematic experience of place and time through Sarah’s unique perspective. Wildlife biologists often talk about the tedium of longitudinal scientific research, and how “negative” aspects of their internal emotional lives are soothed by — or help drive — their dedication to that work. We are especially proud of the sound design created by Jesse Herrera, which truly evokes what it feels like to walk amongst these enormous turbines at night. Ultimately, we hope your encounter with the film -- and with Sarah and her two dogs -- is an emotional first-person experience of discovery, of wonder and awe.
