Filmmaker Statement

Gani is a film about a man who works as a water pump operator, day in day out. Inspired by graphic novels like The Nobody (Jeff Lemire), City of Glass and Maus (Art Spiegelman), it serves as an introduction to a character who finds himself flitting between past and present, real and imaginary. We made this film as a part of my cinematography location practical exercise in the final semester at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
