As Jewish filmmakers we have a personal connection to this project. Both of our grandfather's fought on the frontlines of WWII, liberating concentration camps throughout Europe, and both of us lost family members in concentration camps during the Holocaust. Be it through stand-up or improv, we have always turned to jokes as a mechanism to deal with painful experiences. While therapists and our moms would likely disagree, for us comedy is a comforting lens through which we can look at the atrocities our families suffered. We want this pilot to have the same effect for our viewers; namely use entertaining and comedic premises to explore lesser known facets of WWII. Considering current events, we think it is a pertinent reminder that sometimes unconventional methods create a revolution. There is also a slight charm (and extreme worry) for both us to look around at our group of friends and think, "What would happen if our freaks, or favorite artists, had to defend America?"
