Filmmaker Statement

With the advent of dating apps, reducing a person to a 2D picture on a screen has normalized the cowardly practice of ghosting - aka disappearing into the night, even after a date, or two or three. But the prevalence of ghosting doesn't make it any less painful, because when you like someone, rejection hurts, no matter how you slice it. Our satirical yet poignant film was written to honor the very human need to seek closure in the face of loss, and grieve “what could have been” in the deeply detached world of modern dating.
