‘God Grant Me’ was inspired when working on J.P Millers play ‘The Days Of Wine And Roses’, for a theatre workshop and from my own experiences as a high level athlete. I wanted to explore masculinity and addiction. To look at a high functioning substance abuser. I was interested in the idea of a failed athlete who is past his prime and never reached the heights that they might have. About brotherhood, forgiveness and taking responsibility.
