Filmmaker Statement

The summer of 2017, every Norwegian newspaper was writing constantly about the developing case of Havnesjefen, and it became one of the most polarizing topics in all of Norway that year. Mia, being from the village of Os where it happened, knew that this was a golden story for an animated short ever since that summer. With Konrad becoming invested in the story later and the two of us deciding to team up, we wanted to tell the story from the point of view no one had heard yet - the swan himself. This is achieved through a seamless mix of real interviews with the locals of Os, and fictional interviews with Havnesjefen and his wife, all visualized with hand-drawn animation and placed into a 7 minute story.
