Filmmaker Statement

This is my latest release as Telegraph Hill - it’s called Hedonists, a dreamy Synthpop single about being too anxious to engage in a hedonistic lifestyle, despite really wanting to. The music video is an extension of the song's thematic content - it depicts an Astronaut taking a lonely night walk around London after crash landing some time earlier. Both the Astronaut & the song's narrator feel like they don't fit in with the world around them. The animation was achieved by masking out still images and moving them with keyframes, then digitally shifting the focus to create a dynamic sense of movement. This is combined with stock footage of London landmarks (Regent's Canal, Primrose Hill) to place the Astronaut in a real environment.
