Filmmaker Statement

As a piece of writing in and of itself, Henwick calls to my deepest roots as a Film Maker. It's a bold attempt at a classic atmospheric Ghost Story, deeply inspired by the works of M.R James and Charles Dickens. The brief from the outset was plain to me. I wanted to produce a short film that matched a compellingly mysterious yet unsettling narrative with a poignant sense of atmosphere and a tangible deep sense of setting and place. A slow burner that attempts to unsettle and draw an audience as opposed to outrightly shock or scare.
