Here the Wild Things Are is not your ordinary nature documentary. It's a fast-paced, joyful exploration of the wild in the city, filled with fun, hope, and wonder. The film is about perseverance against overwhelming odds, finding beauty in the obscure, and realising that small changes can make a huge impact. Against the urgent backdrop of a biodiversity crisis and the looming threat of a sixth mass extinction, this film explores how communities can combat the tendency to overlook nature, especially in cities. Centered around the 'City Nature Challenge,' this global competition encourages cities to document the most species and engage participants. Through this lens, we meet an eclectic mix of scientists as they uncover the hidden wonders of urban nature, showing how much the world’s conservationists need the support of everyday people to make a difference.
