Being a filmmaker, specifically a director, is more of a recent dream of mine. I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to do as a career when I was in high school, since I found myself interested in a multitude of subjects including but not limited to the fine arts. During my first year of college, two important things happened: I took my first film class, and I confronted my anorexia. Within my first official film class, I realized I had a deep interest in the language of film and how people respond to them. Movies have a specific way of communicating ideas to audiences that I find fascinating, and I love the collaborative process of coming together with talented people to create something with a powerful message. The eating disorder was something I had denied since junior year of high school. I kept telling myself that I just wanted to be fit and healthy.
