Filmmaker Statement

As a Lebanese woman, I saw the struggles my parents faced when moving to Canada. As refugees from Lebanon and this posed many challenges. From language barriers to the struggle of employment, and difficulty to re-establish their lives in a new country across the globe. They didn't have a choice. "Home" is a universal experience among immigrants, which is why I wanted to create a piece that portrays this. The beauty of this animated film is it can be shown to people of all ages to understand the immigrant experience. Additionally, a vital part of this film had a middle eastern woman as the lead character as an all-encompassing figure of resilience.
