Filmmaker Statement

I made this film during my senior year of college. It was during the pandemic so I had moved back home with my parents and was taking my classes remotely. I had a strange need to visit some of the places that kind of haunted me when I was younger - for me that was middle school and high school. Hot Tears, I think, is a love letter to my middle school self and to other middle schoolers out there that are trying to understand the changing world around them.
