65% of sons of prisoners enter the justice system; the statistics are against these children, like Ethan, before they've had chance to define their own lives. This film looks at the justice system purely through the eyes of the child and mother left behind; the isolation, the panic and the loss - these are hugely significant perspectives that we believe aren't getting enough attention in the media or in mainstream film. Exploring themes of social justice, imprisonment and mental health, we have partnered with leading charities in the UK in telling this story and gained a plethora of knowledge in the R&D stages to ensure authenticity. These interviews, directed by Amelia & Phoebe, are available on our Vimeo page here: https://vimeo.com/freidafilms We believe that film is an invaluable vehicle for raising awareness; awareness breaks down stigma and prejudice, and that has the potential to change culture, consensus and reform lives. These children need a voice; they need to be seen.
