Filmmaker Statement

I am the anomaly and the stereotype that is the African-American male. Born in the United States to American citizens, with the desires of life, liberty, and the pursuits of happiness and dreams promised to all. Like my life to this point, I’ve sought to ground my writing and visual work at the intersection of this understanding. I seek to showcase the diversity of the Black experience that reflects the nuances of my upbringing. For it is my belief that these layers of our common journey will provide the backdrop for future influences – ultimately (hopefully) shaping our collective future for the better.
