Filmmaker Statement

Kanavu is a film that came from a deeply personal place. I wanted to explore the feeling of being lost in life, the uncertainty, pressure, and emotional isolation many young people experience while trying to figure out who they are and where they belong. The story follows someone disconnected from his purpose, until a childhood drawing and an unexpected visit from someone from his past force him to confront the dreams he once left behind. This project strongly reflects my own journey. I am currently pursuing my dream of becoming an actor and filmmaker, and Kanavu became a way for me to express the fears, doubts, and hopes that come with chasing something meaningful. I know what it feels like to question yourself, but I also know how powerful it can be to hold onto a dream despite the uncertainty. Through this film, I hope to inspire others to reconnect with the ambitions they may have forgotten or felt afraid to pursue. Thank you to everyone who brought this film to life.
