Filmmaker Statement

As a young female filmmaker myself, I look up to individuals like K.Z. Elizabeth. I feel that there are very few people in the film industry that have Kenzie’s point of view, so I was inspired to create a documentary film showcasing her unique story growing up as a natural creative and getting immersed into the film and entertainment industry. Her mission to increase the representation of underrepresented individuals on screen is something I also believe in. I felt that this film would be very impactful to many young people who aspire to get into the film industry but aren't sure if they have the tools to do so. Hearing from someone like Kenzie and how she paved her own path to success was truly motivating.
