In August 2024, I attended Bonneville Speed Week with my parents as a spectator. Growing up around car events, I had grown used to the typical crowd of older white men. So, I was surprised—and thrilled—when I overheard a woman my age with vibrant green hair excitedly talking about “making it to 300 mph.” Intrigued, I introduced myself and started filming her rookie driving passes in the Iron Dinosaur with nothing more than my phone. The event spans 10 days, and as the story unfolded, a cinematographer from New York eventually joined me on the salt. What started as a spontaneous encounter turned into the serendipitous and experimental journey that became this film!
