Filmmaker Statement

My idea with this project was to tell a story related to the war and the trail of pain and suffering that is left behind, I intended to build a dying world reduced to ashes which died at the same time as the main character, a father who even knowing that his wounds are terminal fights to find his daughter and be able to see her one last time, love is the only thing that keeps him alive, the last hope that forces him not to give up, despise this, things always are more complex than they seem, and in wartime not many soldiers have clean hands. Lete is a short film that explores death as a painful and uncertain transition, a tortured purgatory filled with guilt and regret, and an eternal nightmare where a remorseful the character must confront his reality, his true nature, and the darkness he tries desperately to forget.
