The first single from Flaming Youthe's debut mini-EP Dreamscapes of Nightmares, Library Girl is a dreamy melodic stripped track with only piano and vocals - and lots of sustain pedal and reverb effects are used. The accompanying music video leans heavily into the Dark Academia internet aesthetic and into the energetic early 20th century influences that 'flaming youth' comes from - despite being coined by Shakespeare in Hamlet originally, it is a 1920s slang term for the male equivalent of a flapper. 'The slow, dreamy effect of the mellow playing of the piano works as a metaphor for how books give you the chance of escapism. The chorus has a touching overall feeling of freedom due to the raw proclamation of human connection. Flaming Youthe is a great storyteller, with a lingering purity intertwined in their vocals giving library girl an almost musical theatre essence to it.' - RGM Press Release: https://rgm.press/rgm-recommends-the-best-top-5-latest-singles-this-week-10/review/
