Filmmaker Statement

Al's journey into the world of filmmaking began during his middle school summer breaks. 'Lisen' was inspired by the loss of a very dear friend to the opioid epidemic. The film was shot in Tujunga, CA, on the director's land, with a shoestring budget of just $7k, out of which $5k was self-financed. Despite the budget constraints, the filming was completed in a mere three days. Al is immensely grateful to the village that came together to make this project a reality and bring it to screen. Without their support, this film would not have been possible.
