Filmmaker Statement

Little Lou is a 2024 drama/thriller short directed and written by Laine Clair, a young aspiring filmmaker from New Zealand. This is Clair's 4th short film and explores themes of abuse and isolation. Clair has always had a passion for filmmaking and was inspired for Little Lou by past characters she had written and wanted to create a visual story with them. The cinematography, handled by Clair captures the stark contrasts between the warmth of Lou's imagination and the cold reality of his surroundings.
