Filmmaker Statement

“While in-between jobs, I divided my newly acquired free time between finding a new one, leading me to writing what eventually became 'location 4'. With a minimal budget in mind, I wrote the cheapest movie possible without sacrificing plot structure which resulted in a found footage film. The first night searching for potential shooting locations, we stumbled upon the perfect place. I re-wrote the second half of the film around it and gave the protagonists their occupation of "location scouts." Before shooting, we were concerned the police would be called because of our yelling and screaming. By the end of the shoot, we were more concerned by the fact they didn’t get called, which added to the atmosphere and tension. My hope with 'location 4' is for the viewer to relate to one of my biggest fears while at the same time tapping into their own as well as remembering the viewing experience as a memorable one.” - Antonio Pinheiro
