Filmmaker Statement

This film tells the story of a unique couple: a cosmonaut and a diver who protects her during training before her flight. As departure nears, distance strains their bond. Inspired by my own experience, I imagined two people as far apart as possible yet united by a shared space. Animation lets me show the impossible: a kiss across distance. The cosmonaut’s journey becomes a metaphor for breakup—though endings may remain open, leaving room for reunion. It’s also a story of ambition: she belongs in space, even if it means leaving her partner. Her choice affirms that a woman’s career need not yield to love.
