Filmmaker Statement

Three forces converge to create this film: Love, Resistance, and Music. My profound love for Jamaica's independent creative culture inspired this work—a celebration of the untapped narratives that flow through our people's stories, waiting to find their voice on screen. Resistance against the stereotypical constrains of Jamaican cinema and storytelling by using technology to give Jamaican narratives deserve the same artistic depth and innovation as any film worldwide. Music—reggae at its purest, delivered by one of Jamaica's finest—pulses as the film's soul. More than soundtrack, it becomes the narrative thread weaving revolutionary spirit through every moment. This film lives as a chain reaction: love ignites resistance, resistance discovers its rhythm, and rhythm becomes the vessel for a mindbending tale that is queitly being regarded as one of the Island most innovative films of the decade.
