Filmmaker Statement

Writing this story through the lens of twins — two people who are inextricably linked — was a choice I made to represent the dancing anxieties that live in my brain: money and death. I often oscillate between the modus operandi of each twin: behaving like Rosie and feeling like Ben. And while my only experience stealing was once as a child from a gift shop, it felt natural to me to create an entanglement between money and death through the lens of a robbery. Through this lens, I took what I knew from my family’s world view and wove in my own questions surrounding desperation, reliance, and trust. These perspectives and questions are at the core of what I explored in this film and I am proud to share it.
