ᎦᏚᎩ (Gadugi) is a Cherokee community value meaning, “people coming together and working to help one another.” I bring this value with me in my work to encapsulate community futurity and inspire others to advocate for environmental justice, land, and culture connected to it. This film highlights a Cherokee Nation elder’s vision for the community if Tar Creek was clean. Even though there is a long road ahead, resilience is rooted in Cherokee people. The fight for clean water and the ability to participate in culture continues.
