Filmmaker Statement

The first time I listened to Harley, I immediately felt a sense of nostalgia and yearning, with a tinge of melancholia and wanted to find a way to put that feeling on-screen. Andy (Middle Part) has a great sense of humor, and we had talked about finding a way to add some levity, without it being over the top or too slapstick. All of this led me to this idea of finding "faking it" a b I went ba To do this we decided to shoot on 16mm which inherently conveys a soft, familiar texture in the look. But this was also written into the creative, felt within the situations we find Andy in. Each scene starts out seeming like one thing, and we quickly reveal that it's contrived.
