Filmmaker Statement

Napo is a story that proposes a reflection on the roles of family members, the need for human contact, the capacity for imagination that transcends age limits, the origins of love (the purest and most childlike), the difficulties of aging. In this film we develop a new look at the life of a person who suffers from Alzheimer's, deepening the knowledge about the reality of the disease and showing the importance of the relationship of family affection — in this case or in any other. The film is based on a true story. Daniel, the animator of the film lived and took care, along with his family, of a relative with Alzheimer's.
