Filmmaker Statement

My name is Ksenia Kachenko, I am director from Moscow and I shot my debut short film "No words". I have always disliked the surrounding reality, and for me the only escape from it was the cinema. For me, cinema is a kind of magic, a fairy tale, something beyond the reality. This is a place where you can run away , hide and forget about what is happening outside the window. I have always been for the fact that "We were born to make a fairy tale come true", and in my case - on the contrary. Therefore, there is a lot of mysticism and fabulousness in our story. So, a gothic diva-fortuneteller with black eyeliner, long earrings and nails leads a reception in her palace, and during the session she constantly whispers with a raven - adviser, checking her cards with him. The receptionist in a red tailcoat and with hair slicked back keeps notes in his big old magazine. The film itself begins with a dream that the main character had. This dream is the reason why this story starts happening...
