Filmmaker Statement

Identity is a theme I explore in almost all my films. I am fascinated by what lengths humans will go to in order to find and embody their identity and/or what some will do to create a false self. These filters blur the line between reality and fantasy, just like movies do, which is why this story perfect for the horror genre. As filmmakers, it is our job to tell stories about current events that move us; stories that we feel can not only entertain, but inform, and hopefully create change. Movies allow us to reach millions of people and, if we are lucky, we can have an effect on society as a whole. My hope is that this film makes viewers pause and think about what is truly important in life. That we don’t need to cover up who we are, but instead, embrace it and realize that because we can love ourselves, others will love us back genuinely. This is the magic in life, not the 0-1’s buzzing around in an app.
