Filmmaker Statement

November was my undergraduate thesis at the Savannah College of Art and Design. It stemmed from the desire to explore my complex relationship with depression and ultimately help me cope with how it affects my life. This film is about miscommunication, how depression seeps into every aspect of your life, and the inability to cope with the trauma surrounding death. But I think, at its core, November is about the need to open up, let other people in, and allow ourselves to be vulnerable. ~MAE
